SUMMARY:International Building Code Apartment Building Training
DESCRIPTION:The design and construction of apartment buildings requires the application of both fundamental and unique IBC requirements. This seminar focuses on those provisions that are commonly encountered in these types of residential buildings. Provisions specific to residential building classification\, fire-resistance\, fire protection\, means of egress and accessibility will be addressed. In addition\, detailed provisions discussed will include podium buildings\, occupied roofs\, incidental uses and dwelling unit separations. \nHybrid In-Person or Virtual \nSponsored By\nMetropolitan Kansas City Chapter of ICC\n6.00 CEUs \n  \nCourse Information:\nObjectives:\n\nIdentify those IBC nonstructural requirements that are typically applicable to apartment buildings classified as Group R-2 occupancies.\nEstablish a methodology for the review and application of the IBC provisions as they relate to the design\, plan review and inspection of apartment buildings.\nDescribe why the IBC requirements that are specific to apartment buildings differ from the requirements applicable to other types of buildings.\nDetermine the extent of accessibility required in apartment buildings.\n\nContinuing Education Credit:\n\nParticipants can earn a total of 6 CEUs for attending.\n\nFees\n\nInclude instruction and break refreshments in morning and afternoon. SUMMARY:2021 International Building Code Fire & Smoke Protection Virtual Training
DESCRIPTION:Training from Rob Neale\nInternational Code Council Trainer\nSponsored By Region IV of the International Code Council \nThis course addresses the critical concepts of the 2021 International Building Code® (IBC®) regarding Chapter 7\, Fire and Smoke Protection Features. These concepts provide a basis for the analysis and identification of which components require fire-resistance ratings; where the fire-resistance-rated construction is required in building construction; where smoke-resistant construction is mandated; and the use of fire door assemblies\, fire window assemblies\, penetration firestop systems\, fire dampers and smoke dampers. The participant will be able to apply the provisions of Chapter 7 of the 2021 IBC to the materials and assemblies used for structural fire resistance\, as well as the fire-resistance-rated and smoke-resistant construction separation of adjacent spaces. \nThe following publication is recommended to ensure success in the course:\n2021 International Building Code® (IBC®) \nCourse Objectives…\n\nExplain the scope of the fire-resistance-rated and smoke-resistant provisions in Chapter 7.\nDescribe the manner in which a fire-resistance rating is achieved.\nIdentify the individual building components that require a fire-resistance rating.\nIndicate how to properly protect openings and penetrations in fire-resistance-rated assemblies.\n\nContinuing Education Credit:\nParticipants can earn a total of 6 CEUs for attending. \nSign Up & Pay for Training Below\nThis training cost $35 click the link below to sign up and pay for training. Make sure to provide a valid email address. \nSign Up for Training  \nMore Information or Questions:\nContact David Byl with questions about this opportunity.
